Horisontti Housing
Aurinkolahti, Helsinki, 2004
The unique frontal location of Horisontti (Horizon) Housing provides open views, an essential element for the seaside architecture. The Horisontti apartments are light and plain, the store lines divide all-height glazed balcony zone.
The ground floor apartments are different and exploit the position in many ways. Two row-house -like apartments have direct outdoor entrance through small gardens on the parking deck. The seaside floors are lowered and the balconies are altered to forecourt-like spaces: under urban stairs and behind gates is room for bikes, carriges etc.
Horisontti has been introduced in the Betoni 3/2004, (The Finnish Concrete Magazine).
