Einola, dormitory for the severely disabled students & campus library

Einola building is a part of the Validia Educational Centre of Invalidiliitto (Union for Disabled People in Finland) in Järvenpää town.
The ground floor contains the campus library and rehabilitation premises with sauna & pool compartment. The special classroom for the most severely disabled is on the next level.
The upper floors facilitate 50 apartments for the students with the common spaces. The apartments have been designed for the assisted students, tjer is also a training apartment. The other student apartments of the campus are located on the same street in other dormitory buildings.
The light bridges cross the open glass roofed hall. This central element replaces traditional dormitory corridors. The apartment entrances are embedded in the red brick flue walls.
The large balconies and the main stair articulate the white plastered elevations.
”Lasisiipi” (Glass Wing), work of art by Tiina Torkkeli hangs through the main hall.
